The Orona Art Studio

Lyn's fine art oil paintings are of the desert Southwest and Mexico. Her paintings of oil are all original and one of a kind. All oil paintings are on canvas. Our handmade silver jewelry is all one of a kind. We fabricate all of our hand made sterling silver jewelry in our home studio. We create sterling silver Turquoise jewelry as well as other colored gem stones. We work with Malachite, Morrisonite, Chrysocolla and other colored gem stones.

About Us

Lyn and Richard Orona
Deming, New Mexico, United States
Our adventure into jewelry making began 17 years ago when a fellow artist asked us to make brooches for her hand painted silk scarves. We use very basic jewelry techniques. Working with Sterling Silver, Gold, and semi-precious stones, we fabricate each piece by hand, not cast. Each is one of a kind. Richard also does some of the lapidary work. Our jewelry can not be pinned down to one particular style, as we are always trying alternative ways of working and finding new sources of inspiration. Clean lines, pleasing abstracts and careful attention to detail are characteristic of our work. Lyn is also a very accomplished oil painter. Her inspiration comes from the brilliant sunsets we get here in the Southwest. Lyn loves to paint the colorful old Mexican culture. The American Indian is also one of her favorite subjects as evidenced by her clay sculptures. We are mostly self taught, gathering technical information, asking questions, and taking classes. Lyn is a signature member of the the Black Range Artists, inc., and an Associate Member of the American Academy of Women Artists.
